About Improv At Work

Our Mission

Improv at Work is the corporate learning and team-building division of The Assembly Improv South Africa, located in Johannesburg. We utilize creativity training to bring the tools of improvisation off-stage and into organizations through practical, highly engaging workshops. These sessions enhance speaking skills and strengthen how people communicate, collaborate, and adapt in real time, ultimately fostering greater workplace creativity.

Why use Improv in your business?

Improv builds adaptable, confident teams

Work is increasingly team-based, but teams often stall when people don’t listen, conversations are dominated, or ideas get shut down. Improv gives teams a way to practice the unscripted moments—unexpected questions, shifting briefs, tricky conversations—in a low-stakes environment, so the behaviours show up when the stakes are real. Because it’s experiential (“learn by doing”), it builds shared habits quickly: listen, build, adapt, and move forward together.
